The 9 NFT Rarities Explained — From Common to Celestial

Gear is the heart of Realm of Aetherion, and every piece — characters, weapons, armour, and accessories — rolls on a nine-tier rarity ladder. The higher the rarity, the harder it hits and the scarcer it is. Here's the full ladder and what it means for your loadout.

The nine rarities

From most common to rarest:

1. Common — the starter tier. Cheap, plentiful, and enough to farm Easy bosses.
2. Uncommon — a clear step up, with a noticeably stronger stat multiplier.
3. Rare — solid mid-game gear that carries you into Hard tier.
4. Epic — the ceiling for boss drops, and a real power jump.
5. Legendary — the first of the "prestige" tiers; mint- and marketplace-only.
6. Mythic — rarer still, for serious collectors and top-tier warbands.
7. Divine — high-end power for pushing Expert and Infernal.
8. Ethereal — near the top of the ladder; genuinely scarce.
9. Celestial — the rarest gear in the Realm. The pinnacle of a loadout.

Each rarity carries a higher stat multiplier than the last, so upgrading even a single slot can visibly cut the number of hits it takes to clear a boss.

Farmed vs. minted: where scarcity comes from

Not every rarity can be earned from bosses. This is deliberate, and it's what keeps the top of the market from being flooded:

• Boss drops cap at Epic. When you defeat a mini-boss and roll an NFT, it will be a Common, Uncommon, Rare, or Epic gear piece or trinket — never higher.
• Legendary and above are mint- and marketplace-only. Characters and weapons of every rarity, plus all Legendary/Mythic/Divine/Ethereal/Celestial items, come from booster packs, crafting, or trading — never from grinding.

The result: a new player can farm their way to a respectable Epic-tier kit, while the rarest gear stays rare no matter how much anyone grinds.

How rarity interacts with your build

Rarity isn't the only lever. Remember that in Aetherion:

• Characters contribute HP, DEF, and Speed — a higher-rarity character means more survivability and a shorter cooldown, but no extra damage.
• Weapons, armour, and accessories are your damage sources — this is where rarity most directly turns into bigger hits.
