Booster Packs & Drop Odds — What's Inside the Treasure Chests

· Realm of Aetherion

Boss drops in Realm of Aetherion cap at Epic — so if you want Legendary and above, or you just want to gear up fast, booster packs are the way. Here's how packs work, why the odds are provably fair, and how to open and claim.

What's in a pack

Packs are treasure chests that contain aetherion gear — characters, weapons, armour, and trinkets across the rarity ladder. Unlike boss drops (which are limited to Common–Epic), packs are where the rarest gear enters circulation: Legendary, Mythic, Divine, Ethereal, and Celestial items are mint-only, and packs are a primary source.

Different packs target different slots and rarity ranges, so you can buy toward what your loadout actually needs rather than hoping a boss drops it.

Opening is provably fair — on-chain

This is the part that matters in an on-chain game: you don't have to trust the odds, you can verify them. When you open a pack, the chest is burned and the outcome is settled by on-chain randomness. Nobody — not even the team — can peek at or re-roll your result. The flow is:

  1. Open — you send the chest to the pack contract, which burns it and requests randomness.
  2. Settle — the random result resolves on-chain, deciding exactly what you won.
  3. Claim — you sign the claim, and the won NFTs are minted directly to your wallet.

Because the result is committed on-chain before you claim, the whole process is transparent and tamper-proof.

Don't leave rewards unclaimed

A subtle but important tip: opening burns the chest and settles your reward, but the NFTs only reach your wallet once you claim. If you open packs and leave before claiming, your rewards sit safely on-chain waiting for you — head to Character → Inventory → Open packs and claim anything outstanding. Nothing is ever lost; it just needs that final claim signature.

Packs vs. boss farming vs. the marketplace

Each source has its place:

  • Booster packs — the fast track to higher rarities and the only farmable route to Legendary+.
  • Boss drops — a free trickle of Common–Epic gear on every ladder kill (see How to Earn AETHER).
  • The marketplace — buy the exact rarity and slot you need from other players, no RNG.

A common path: open a pack or two to seed a strong character and weapons, farm Easy–Hard to fund upgrades, then buy the last missing slot on the marketplace.

Why this keeps the economy healthy

Capping boss drops at Epic and keeping Legendary+ to packs and the marketplace is a deliberate scarcity design. It means grinding can never flood the top of the market, so the rarest gear holds its value — good for collectors and good for the long-term health of the AETHER economy.
